Puzzletober 2026: Hero

Renn typically woke up a little later than Felix. Today, they awake at exactly the same time: a few minutes past daybreak, upon being tightly ensnared by vines. When Renn is awake enough, he attempts to swing his ax about, but it's out of his reach. Felix listens submissively and hears, "To follow you was easy. During the night, I passed the gate." Felix knows the voice. He yells, "Map seeker!" Renn follows him up with, "Map seeker? She would ally with the nymph?" The woman responds, "I don't understand that word, ally. Does it mean change?" She enters Renn's field of view and makes eye contact. Renn spurts, "She is the nymph." The nymph laughs. She says, "My name is Terra. When I ally, my master gives me a second name. During the day, I am Terra Green."

Felix responds, "Then, Terra, why did you ask us to get the map?" She walks over to him, smiles warmly, and says, "There isn't supposed to be a map." After a pause, she continues: "My master made the plan to get Cheryl. My master wanted to keep Dahlia away forever. I thought, I can improve the plan. Without telling my master, I led you to Dahlia. When you found Dahlia, I was watching. I was very happy. My improvement worked! But, Dahlia said there could be a map. If there is a map, and you find it, the plan fails. I am improving my improvement." She transpires a bit and concludes, "To be a hero is hard." Renn yells, "Hero? You tie us up and call yourself a hero? What happens next?" She wilts slightly and says, "I am still thinking. There will be a good next phase." Felix asks, "What is your master's plan with Cheryl?" Without flinching, Terra says, "I don't know." Felix says, as calmly as he can muster, "Do you know if your master is a hero?" She ponders, her expression getting darker and lighter in slow rhythm. Renn catches Felix's implication. If only there was some connection of thoughts to form a convincing argument, perhaps Terra could be on their side.

Rules: Solve as a Hashiwokakero. Arrows point in the direction of the only strongest connection: strength is measured by the amount of lines divided by the amount of cells between the clues.
